Midsummer Ball Silent Auction


This highly anticipated weekend affair July 20-22, 2007 is a must on the social calendars of many of Canada’s leaders. Offering inspiring social, cultural, and recreational activities in an unparalleled UNESCO World Heritage site, the Ball is one of Canada’s most unique and illustrious fundraising events. It attracts more than 300 guests and raises nearly half a million dollars yearly in support of The Banff Centre’s unrivalled professional development programming and artist scholarships.

The artist statement is as follows:
Icy Reflections
Snowflakes and ice crystals define the arctic. Snowflakes form round or pointy shapes depending upon the temperature of the air as they fall – the optimum temperature for the atypical pointy snowflake is -10 to -15c.
