Fall Art Sales
Here are photos of some of what I will be selling at the three sales I am participating in this fall:
Infinity Scarf, also known as an Unisex Circular Scarf. One of four colourways:
Silk-Rayon Devore Scarf - many different patterns, sizes, with and without fringe:
ECO dyed silks, also known as 'natural dyeing'. These pieces are done with dried roses, coffee, hollyhocks, cherries, fresh rose petals, raspberries. Solid silk scarves, silk-rayon devore scarves, velvet devore scarves, and silk chiffon scarves:
Small framed pieces for tabletops, most 4"x6" size:
"Keepsake Pouch" necklaces. Made with linen thread and 2000 stitches, these are decorated with beads and buttons, and filled with semi-precious stones. Here are 2 of the 9 different coloured bags:
Brooches - an artist-made fabric of silks, organzas, cottons, tulle fused together with a wood burning tool, then beaded and hand embroidered. Various shapes:
Now I would like to share these with you - hope I see many of you over the coming months...

Edmonton Art Exhibit and Sale this weekend!
Do you know about Calyx? Last spring they had their first sale in Edmonton - they are allowing Calgary artists in until it gets bigger there and then will be filled with Edmontonian artists. Their location is great too - between the University and Southgate, so fairly central.

Urban Textures 1
Well, back to work now that the arm is mostly healed. The exhibition in Edmonton is coming up in the new year so it is time to get working on pieces based upon the historical district in downtown Winnipeg. I am concentrating on old signs painted onto the sides of buildings, so going for the effect of layering, erosion, faded beauty...
At the moment I am pulling out fabrics and threads for colours to work in; checking out techniques to portray the time worn images; and stitches to use in the work. Busy times ahead!

My piece is the large (five feet by seven feet) piece of fibre art on the front wall. It is all done in small squares of browns and golds and as there is a window opposite it shines with an amazing lustre in the gallery.
