More time exploring in Gimli, Manitoba. Now getting to the Viking roots...

into the museum for some history



the boats in town still fly the Icelandic flag


a visit out to Hecla Island


and Grassy Narrows Park


then a field of sunflowers on the way back to Winnipeg


and we couldn't leave Winnipeg without a visit to the architecturally stunning Canadian Museum for Human Rights

Our trip to Gimli, on Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba, saw us visiting an Icelandic horse farm



drove from Winnipeg north and experienced some amazing skies


learnt some history of the area


large percentage of lake front owners have their own planes


checking the beach for "Lucky Stones"


then off for a fish and chips dinner
